English Fetes

Updated: Mar 22, 2019

Nether Winchendon is my favourite fete in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire because it’s still possesses that quintessentially of all English fetes with a brass band, classic cars, tractor rides, kids’ races, Victorian games, tea, prosecco and pimms, tractor rides, cakes and tombola.

The fete raises money for this small village which has been voted as one of the most beautiful in the UK.

What makes this very special is not just the beauty of the area and the landscape but Nether Winchendon House itself, which is a Jacobean manor house with beautiful gardens. It’s been used as a set location for many TV series and films including Bridget Jones Diary and Midsomer Murders.

When the sun shines, it's relaxing and a great time is had by all the family. I love the Victorian games such as Wheel of Fortune, Smasharama, Ball in Bog Games, Splat the Rat, Kid Races, Egg and Spoon Race and the Sack Race.

Have a look at the type of classic cars that show at the fete and for more information on this years fete date and time, please go the following link:
